Meet the Team
Sharon Wright BVMS CertAVP(VD) MRCVS
After graduating in 2011 from the University of Glasgow Sharon moved to East Yorkshire as a mixed vet. In 2012 she moved back to the North East of England, where she grew up. Sharon has always enjoyed dermatology and in 2017 she completed her Advanced Practitioner Certificate through the University of Liverpool.
Outside of work Sharon enjoys walking in the countryside and crafting. In 2019 she walked the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall. She and Allan currently have two dogs, two cats and two horses.
Allan Wright BVMS MRCVS
Allan graduated alongside Sharon in 2011 after marrying her the previous year. Since 2012 he has worked as a mixed animal vet while developing his interest in exotic animal medicine. He is currently studying for his Advanced Practitioner Certificate at the University of Edinburugh.
Allan is also a fully trained Ordained Local Minister with the Church of Scotland. He enjoys reading, watching TV and films and has recently taken up running. He does not like mornings.
Kayleigh Bridge RVN C&GcertES, ISFMcertFN
Kayleigh has worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years in both primary care and referral practices. She has nursing certificates in exotic species and feline nursing. Kayleigh really likes the weird and wonderful which is what drew her to exotics, especially reptiles. She has always found animals that aren’t so common fascinating. She also has a passion for feline behaviour and educating owners on cats and their little quirks.
In her spare time she enjoys sewing and being crafty. She also loves exploring the outdoors with her family. Currently Kayleigh has 2 cats: Apollo and Meredith, and Frank the tortoise. She has had a huge variety of pets over the years including snakes, lizards, insects and small furries.
Victoria Mee DipVN RVN ISFMcertFN APVN (Small Mammals)
Vicki qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2015: this had been a goal of hers from a very early age. In 2017 she gained her certificate in Feline Friendly Nursing and she recently completed her Advanced Programme in Veterinary Nursing of Small Mammals. In the future she hopes to achieve her certificate in nursing reptiles, amphibians and birds. Vicki loves all aspects of her job but particularly enjoys seeing patients, that have been very unwell, make a full recovery and greet us with the waggiest tail and lots of kisses when they return for a check up. Vicki is known for her love of Lhasa Apsos but adores rodents and other small furries. Her current animal family includes Squidge and Munchie the Lhasa Apsos; Peaches and Oreo the Rabbits; Pickles the Syrian Hamster, Sprout the African fat tail gecko, Ponyo and Kodama the corn snakes, and a large tank of tropical fish. She has also kept rats, gerbils, mice and stick insects in the past and can never resist the chance to rehabilitate injured strays or wildlife.
Charlotte Lamb RVN
Charlotte is a newly Registered Veterinary Nurse having completed her final exams in Summer 2019. She has been working in practice for three years and has a strong interest in exotic animals, particularly reptiles. She also has a passion for anaesthesia, emergency care and running nurse clinics. Since qualifying, Charlotte has begun studying a new diploma course to become a bereavement counsellor: she considers one of the most important aspects of her job to be ensuring that clients are cared for to the same standard as the animals she nurses. Charlotte has 8 pets including 4 leopard geckos, a crested gecko, a Rankins dragon, hamster and a Jack Russell. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, watching documentaries, reading, collecting tattoos and caring for her growing zoo of animals at home - her favourite animal being, as yet uncollected, Dalmatians!
Gill qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1980, and has worked in several practices over the years, more recently as a receptionist. She has a love of animals and has had various cats and dogs – mostly rescued – her latest being Mabel, who came into the vets with an un-healing wound on her face. In her spare time Gill enjoys walking, gardening and reading.
Denise is our afternoon receptionist, joining us in September 2020. She has a love of cats and dogs, particularly larger breeds. Denise has four cats and Charlie, her beloved Labrador: all rescues. She enjoys crafting and walks with family and friends in the local countryside.
Athena Practice Pet
Athena is our charcoal corn snake. She was discovered slithering wild during the winter while Allan was working at another practice. She is approximately three feet long and, while shy, is more than happy to come out and see the world. She loves mice and slithering backwards up your top!
Tweety Practice Pet
Tweety joined us after his owner passed away. He is still getting used to being with us but enjoys joining us for lunch, and sampling whatever we have brought!
Terry Ann Practice Pet
Short for Terry-antula, Terry Ann joined us in reception after she was found abandoned with 15 other spiders. She is still very nervous of people but is gradually coming out of her shell.
